When you say positive affirmations to yourself, they lift your mental state. That’s the objective of a powerful affirmation. An affirmation that doesn’t serve its purpose is wasted.

What is an affirmation?

An affirmation, is an assertion that something exists in the present tense, and is true. You believe that affirmation, and it changes your mental state.

The way, I see it, the affirmation should be something that’s within your reach. If you say something like “I am an immortal” for an affirmation, there is no way this is going to be true.

The thing is, we are always talking to ourselves, and the more I think about life, the more I believe that the quality of our lives depends on the conversations we have with our selves. If we talk to ourselves positively, we feel positive about life and have belief in ourselves. Therefore, affirmations are important because they help reinforce our self-belief.

Why do we need affirmations?

We need affirmations because life can be hard, and sometimes, we tend to think negative about our lives, and those negative thoughts make us feel defeated. We need to revert to positive thinking so that we feel in charge again.

You cannot live a happy life, with a negative thought leading your thinking. It will make you weak. Thoughts are things. With that context, let us get started.

Here is a list of affirmations you can consider saying to yourself at different points in your life:

    Breathe in and take charge. Fix what is broken, no matter how long it takes. Do the right thing. The right thing is the kind and loving thing to do. You can do whatever is needed to solve the problem at hand.

        I haven’t failed. There is nothing like failure if I don’t give up. I will find another way to reach my goal and will learn from the temporary setbacks I am facing. Setbacks are temporary. I cannot fail, until I give up, and I refuse to give up till I am live.

        I may have failed at relationships in the past but I am worthy of love. Inside, I know that am a loving person who finds joy in loving others, not for themselves, but for me. I seek to love, and to be loved and I am successful at finding love.

        I am capable of fighting through life’s lows and battles because I am resilient. Life, they say, is a rollercoaster and I am able to go through the lows as well as the high’s without getting disturbed. Things always improve for me because I do not give up.

        I have never given up in the past and I do not give up. It’s not in my nature. As Winston Churchill said, “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”

        I am not perfect and sometimes I make mistakes in the pursuit of growth. Given that one cannot grow without making mistakes, I take mistakes in my stride, learn from them and move on. I do not let mistakes bog me down or made me sad.

          I take care of my health and do not do things which would make me sick. There are different types of health, like physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and I ensure that I take care of every aspect of my health. I am healthy and my health is a source of joy for me.

            I am recovering and getting better every day. My family and doctors are taking care of me and I am recovering and getting healthier every day. One day, I will be in total state of health, just like I used to be.

              I believe in myself in spite of the lows and the highs of life. A lot of life has gone through me. I have borne a lot of pain and experiences a significant amount of joy that I created through my hard work and effort. No matter what happens, and no matter what anyone says, my self-belief will not waver.

                I am grateful for everything life has given me. There have been many ups and downs, and I am so grateful for the experiences. The good experiences made me happy, and the painful experiences changed me as a person for the better. There is no teacher more powerful than pain. I am grateful for life, in its entirety.

                    I can’t even start expressing how important my partner is in my life, and couldn’t imagine a life without everything they do for me. I love my partner, and they love me, and that’s the reason we are together.

                      My kids bring so much joy and innocence back into my life. When I look at them, I feel I am having another chance to live my life. What a source of unadulterated joy they are. I wouldn’t how happy they could make me till I had them.

                      17. Affirmation for mental strength

                        I am mentally strong to go through anything that life throws me. No matter what happens, and how hard life gets, I will let nothing break me. This is my promise to myself, that nothing will break me mentally, and I will keep fighting for my happiness and that of people I love, till I live.

                          I am growing through my life, and will continue to grow physically, mentally and intellectually. I am not complacent, and never done with life. As long as I live, I will continue to learn and grow.

                            I am succeeding in everything that I am trying to do. The universe is opening up new doors for me, even when some doors close. New doors have always opened for me, sooner or later. I believe that new doors open for people who believe in hope, and keep working towards their goals. I am hard working, and conscientious and therefore, I succeed in my efforts.

                            I love life and everything that it comes with. There are good days and not so good days, and all of these combined, make us experience different emotions during the course of life. Life is beautiful, and I always believe in the beauty of it. The purpose of life is to be happy, and I am happy that I am alive.

                            In Conclusion

                            The purpose of an affirmation is to make us feel good about life, and say it in the present tense, as if it were always true. Whenever you are struggling with the challenges of life, you talk to yourself. It is important that you talk to yourself in a positive tone, because whatever you say to yourself is likely to become true, because thoughts become things.

                            Therefore, say positive affirmation to yourself, and make yourself feel better. You and I cannot proceed forward in life, or do anything if we feel awful. Use positive affirmations from this list or other lists on the internet like this from Oprah to feel positive about yourself.
