Make me happy!

Welcome to the happiness blog. In case you are visiting for the first time, please do not forget to follow. Each post on this blog has a single objective- to make your everyday life happier.

I just decided to throw myself a challenge to try and make people happy who are looking for happiness on google.

Although this blog is quite intense, I am willing to take the risk of being silly here to make some of you happy. Let’s do it!

You are special, unique, and also are unprecedented

There is no one like you.

You are a special creation of nature. There has never been anyone quite like you, and there would never be anyone quite like you. Just look at the world around. People have flesh, blood etc., but they are all different. They all look different-different features, different background, different everything.

Not even one person in the world has strengths as unique as you have. No one thinks and observes the world quite like you do. No one experiences life like you do.

You are special. and have every right to feel special.

Although the world around us has a tendency to put all of us in the same box, we are different, and no one like us has occurred before.

So, did that make you a little happy?

Not yet? Let me try again.

You can make yourself happy

You have the power to make yourself happy.

You can just do stuff you want to do. That’s all you need to do to make yourself happy. Isn’t that worth being happy about?

If you want to eat ice cream right now, leave reading this article, and go and eat ice cream. Do whatever that you want that makes you happy.

Although ice cream here is a metaphor for how easy it may be to find your joy, it’s not always easier with the bigger things you want in life, since they take time to work out.

But, the great thing is, it is doable!

So, did that make you a little happy?

Not yet? Let me try again.

Use some sunshine

Enjoy the sunshine. It is free happiness.

Do you realize that sunshine can make you happy? Especially, in winters, sunshine is a great source of vitamin D. So, you should get naked, and lie with some oil in your body while facing the sun.

Sunshine here is a metaphor for so many gifts that nature gives us for free. We have sunshine, water, air to breathe, beaches, mountains and the natural beauty.

There is so much that you and I have been given that makes us happy every day without us doing a thing.

Isn’t that amazing?

So, did that make you a little happy?

Not yet? Let me try again.

Here is a joke I am giving away for free. I charge for telling it as a comedian. I am doing it because I desperately want to make you happy.

Stand Up Comedian Amar
That’s me on the stage

So, Kim Kardashian is quite famous. Right? Why is she famous?

She is famous because she is so talented. She is so talented that she displayed all her talent on the paper magazine a few years back. Did you see it? I saw it. Millions of people, especially men around the world saw her talent. Now, I am a keen observer of talent, and I am sure when you see it, you won’t notice. Her left talent is bigger than the right talent.

Now, I bet that made you laugh. That is one of my best jokes.

Happiness, however, is of two kinds. This blog, largely, is about the kind of happiness that stays in your life for a longer duration of time. I want you to be happy every day, and so do what is recommended in the rest of the content on the blog.

So, did that make you a little happy?

I am sure I have succeeded to some extent by now. But, I will try some more.

Try smiling right now no matter how awkward it feels.

Smile. It would make you happier.

In fact, go and do it in front of the mirror. Yes, life is difficult. However, we do make it even more difficult by taking so much burden on us about things we can’t do a lot about.

Take off some of the burden you are carrying. Release yourself from the load of things you can’t change. Take the stress off.

Go stand in front of a mirror, and as you read this, smile. Do it. It is not impossible. You can do it.

So, did that make you a little happy?

See, we are together getting better.

Here is a story for you.

A little girl
Photo by Katerina Holmes on Pexels.com

Once there was a young girl and she was quite sad because she failed in a school exam. On the same day, she got results of another test, a subject she liked, and she scored at the top of the class in that subject. She hated math and loved English literature and her scores reflected that. When she got to know that she scored at the top of the class in English, she was confused whether she should feel happy about this, or feel sad about mathematics.

Her father saw her and asked her what was wrong. She was scared to tell him that she had failed at math. But she did, with nervousness.

To her surprise, her father told her that he had hated math all his life, and it made sense that she was his daughter, and both had a great laugh. He told her to celebrate that she stood at the top of the class in English.

She was now happy, and forgot about math because her father believed in her. That’s all that really mattered to her.

May be, all that you need to do after you are done reading this article is to go and have a conversation with someone who believes in you.

So, did that make you a little happy?

I really think you are smiling now.

Massage your nipples

Listen, you are getting on my nerves now. Here I am trying to make you happy, and you are making my job difficult. Let’s try something here. Get some oil, and put it on your nipples and massage your nipples for the next 3 minutes. Close your eyes while you do that because you may end up titillating yourself without possibility of doing anything about it. Is this picture above inspiring enough?

So, did that make you a little happy?

This one was fun, wasn’t it? Let’s get a little more serious again about happiness and go beyond nipples.

Meditate

Meditation can make you happier.

Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Do it once you finish this paragraph. Focus on your breathing and let the thoughts in your mind flow naturally. Do not try to obstruct anything. Do this for a few minutes.

Once you are done breathing, compress your face, and stretch the facial muscles. You would feel lighter, better, and more relaxed.

So, did that make you a little happy?

This should not only make you happy, but more relaxed and less stressed out. You should perform meditation every day for a few minutes whenever you have time. Stop massaging your nipples. We are done with that step.

Let’s make a gratitude list.

Make me happy

Get a pen and paper. No, don’t do it on a computer. Get a pen and paper. Now, start making a gratitude list. Write down things you are thankful for. Don’t give me bullshit about what you don’t have. When you focus on what you don’t have, you have less of what you want to have. When you focus on what you have, you have more of what you want to have.

Let me get you started on your gratitude list:

  • Life is free, and it is a gift
  • I can read
  • want to work on myself and improve my life
  • have achieved X/Y/Z
  • I am a hard working person
  • People who care for me- *write their relationship with you*

Keep working on the list till you have filled up at least 10 items on the list that you are immediately thankful for. Once you are done writing the list, read it to yourself. I guarantee you would feel happier than when you started.

So, did that make you a little happy?

I bet it did.

You can be happier by making others happy.

Make others happy.

Why do you think I am doing this? Is this a waste of my time to try and make you happy? Absolutely not. I do this because it gives my life a purpose. It gives life meaning. You too can find more happiness in everyday life simply by using your gifts to make the world a happier place.

If you don’t know what your gifts are, look for things you are naturally good at, and using which you can solve some real problems in the world, and make the world a better, a happier place.

So, did that thought make you a little happy?

I believe it did. I will give another shot at it, still.

Other people can’t really make you happy. They can only help you find your happiness.

Only you can make yourself happy.

I may have made you smile, and laugh during this piece, but what I really did is to help you find your happiness. For good or for bad, our happiness is mostly in our hands. The more we depend on others to make us happy, the more disappointed we would find ourselves, and they may not understand us as deeply as we do.

I wonder if this thought made you happy. However, as someone whose job here is to help people what happiness means, and create it for themselves, I want you to know the truth.

So, did that thought make you a little happy?

I hope you would get around to accepting it and taking responsibility for your happiness.

So, here we are. This is the end of this article. If you didn’t follow the instructions in this piece, please go through again, and do the exercises mentioned as we read through them. While you do that, always remember that happiness was, is, and would always be an inside job.

Thank you for reading.
