Your happiness- the only standard you need

The only standards you need in life are around your happiness. Anything that doesn’t make you happy shouldn’t fall in your realm of life. Who is creating the standards of unhappiness? Whose standards do we follow? Where can you find happiness?

Whose standards?

Parents? No, they belong to a different generation. They did the best they could. Did they live a happy life? Well, happiness wasn’t the top of their standards or parameters to navigate through life.

Society? Society doesn’t know whose standards are society’s standards. These rules are always evolving. Society moves as per the tipping points created by a few individuals who end up occupying dominant positions and their rules become the rules of the society. Is the society happy? No, I can’t say that for sure. Only a few people have genuine smiles and faultless, uninhibited laughter.

Build your own rules for life

How do we create our own standards? Well, I guess they get created out of disillusionment with the ones that we come across. These are a mix of the standards of the mad bunch, the rough edges, the few who have the courage of chart a rule book of their own. The ones who choose to hold individual followed by collective happiness as the only standard worth living up to.

All lives are unique. Yours is unprecedented. Create your own rule book.

Be happy. Spread it. That’s the only standard worth living for.
